Classic Dining with a Contemporary Twist in Louisville
When you reserve a Chef’s Table experience in the English Grill, you embark on a true culinary adventure. Enjoyed right in the restaurant's kitchen alongside the Brown Hotel's Executive Chef Josh Bettis, these special seven-course prix fixe experiences give guests an opportunity to dine in the Hotel's main kitchen while enjoying a lively conversation with Chef Bettis on topics ranging from ingredients, wine and cooking techniques to the art of making five-star cuisine.
The English Grill features two uniquely different Chef's Tables.
The seven-course Classic Chef's Table, a Louisville tradition known as "the ultimate dining experience," is a gastronomic indulgence complete with wine pairings, and is $150 per person plus tax and gratuity. The minimum number of guests to reserve the Chef's Table is four and the maximum is eight. As a courtesy, guests living in Louisville may request to be picked up or dropped off by the hotel van (available for parties of eight). Diners view the work on the kitchen line—guests are encouraged to walk the line to inspect the offerings from the culinary staff, making the celebration an even more enjoyable event. Business event attendees, guests celebrating birthdays, couples celebrating anniversaries and visiting dignitaries have all been guests of the Classic Chef's Table. The seven-course meal is prepared with wine pairings from the English Grill's Sommelier.
The Theater Chef's Table is on the working side of the kitchen. This table accommodates up to 30 guests and incorporates the concept of small-plate dining, complete with four distinct beverage pairings—a bourbon cocktail, red and white wine, and a sparkling wine for dessert. Here, the table resembles a cooking class, and Chef Bettis is only a few feet away from guests as he prepares the cuisine.
