The Zoo to Do
The state zoo of Kentucky, the Louisville Zoo is our go-to for a great outing that betters the bond between man and beast. It's home to 1,700 animals on nearly 135 lush acres, including exhilarating signature exhibits like Glacier Run (where you'll find the polar bears and grizzlies) and the Gorilla Forest. The zoo offers lots of free activities, including the "Nature Connects Lego Brick Sculptures" coming April 10 (through July 5) featuring 30 whimsical Lego sculptures inspired by nature, and the Boma African Petting Zoo. The fun Louisville attraction is open year-round and offers interesting behind-the-scenes tours for the aspiring zoologist or zookeeper in your tribe.
