The Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory: An American Institution
Few athletic brands are as quintessentially American as the Louisville Slugger. Some of baseball’s greatest legends have clenched their place in the annals of sports history while swinging a Slugger, which is why we recommend a visit to the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. Start with a stroll down Main Street, and enjoy Wyatt Gragg’s famous sculptures along the Louisville Slugger Walk of Fame. The museum itself can’t be overlooked: a massive Slugger, 68,000 pounds and 120 feet long, leans against the building’s façade. Inside the museum, you’ll be treated to a short film with testimonies from some of baseball’s greatest players. Museum exhibits include the record-setting sluggers wielded by legends like Mickey Mantle and Babe Ruth, and your guided tour of the factory will reveal exactly how each Slugger is crafted. You can even get your own bat, complete with personalized inscription, and if you want to flex a little muscle, you can try it out in Bud’s Batting Cage.
