Eatin' Local in Louisville

August 14, 2016

Eating local is all the rage these days.  Second to that is eating organic.  Some even want to know if the meat and dairy was ethically raised.  And still some want to know just how the product was transported.  It begins to feel a bit overwhelming.  How, then, do you address all these concerns?

The solution for many is the local farmer’s market. There, unlike the supermarket, you can speak to the person who pulled the produce from the plant, the person who loaded the truck and weighed your order.

You shouldn’t let your dietary and ethical concerns go out the window just because you’re traveling.  So The Brown Hotel wanted to let you know about three farmer’s markets right here in Downtown Louisville.  We recommend the Bardstown Road Farmer’s Market (open Saturdays from 8am – 12pm) the Douglass Loop Market (open Saturdays from 10am – 2pm) and the Crescent Hills Farmer’s Market (open Mondays from 7am – 10am).
