Current Openings
Banquet Chef
This position will be responsible for the entire banquet culinary operation.
Essential Functions:
Direct supervision of the day to day operation
Needs to understand advanced culinary concepts.
Will build rapport with clients and catering staff.
Follow instructions and understand the philosophy of the Executive Chef and carry out those ideas, stressing them to culinary staff.
Work closely with cooks, training, instructing and guiding them in their jobs.
Strong emphasis on artistic food presentation and quality.
Control cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen, walk-ins and ensures proper rotation of foods.
Work closely with banquet service staff to advance their knowledge of menu selections.
Daily walk through all kitchens, walk-ins for proper rotation of food and sanitation.
Daily routine check of mise en place and quality of food product.
All other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef
Requirements include but are not limited to:
Educational experience and a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Chef at a luxury hotel or facility of similar caliber.
A proven ability to give direction to and manage, train and supervise a talented culinary staff to the highest 4-diamond standards.
Expert knowledge of all basic culinary skills such as butchering, sauces, soups, cooking techniques of meat, fish and vegetables.
Ability to work a varied schedule to include early mornings and late nights based upon the nature of the banquet operation.
Restaurant Cook
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Line cooking, grilling, broiling, sautéing, steaming, and prep work
- Daily cleaning, organization of walk-ins and storage areas, proper food rotation
- Practicing and upholding health and sanitation standard
- Must maintain high standards of quality and appearance for all food prepared and served
- Complete working knowledge of the safe and efficient use of all kitchen equipment
- Other job duties as assigned by the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs
Requirements include but are not limited to: must have at least 2 years of experience in full service dining at a restaurant of similar caliber. This position also requires some lifting over 25 lbs., must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and have tolerance to be exposed to hot grills, stoves, ovens, cleaning solvents and detergents on a daily basis. The ideal candidates will have stable work history, impeccable employment references and a professional appearance. Hotel experience is a plus but not required; evening and weekend availability is a must.
Relief Restaurant Manager
Essential Functions:
This position will supervise the AM restaurant operation covering for the restaurant manager approx. 2-3 shifts per/week and will also assist the banquet operations according to business trends.
This is a hands-on position, the responsibilities include but are not limited to: the direct supervision of dining room and bar staff, providing guests either on the phone or in- person with information in a warm, professional and gracious manner; take room service orders, assist in clearing & setting tables, refill beverages if needed, perform other restaurant or customer requests as needed.
Requirements include but are not limited to:
Requirements include but are not limited to: prior experience in an upscale restaurant or hotel, knowledge of food, wine and cocktails, a well polished professional appearance, exceptional oral and written communication skills, able to stand for long periods of time/ carry more than 20 lbs/ work in a fast paced environment, must be organized and detailed oriented; must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
English Grill Server (Part-time)
This is a position in the award winning English Grill, prior service experience at a property of similar caliber is required.
The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal communication skills, impeccable employment references and a professional appearance.
Some essential functions and accountabilities include but are not limited toextensive knowledge of fine dining table etiquette, knowledge of food, wine and liquor.
Must have a passion for exceeding guest expectations and a commitment to providing high quality Four-Diamond guest service.
Position requires some carrying or lifting items weighing up to 35 pounds along with frequent bending and stooping and kneeling.
Must be experienced in proper handling of food objects, plates, trays, and glasses according to health regulations as well as the responsible service of alcoholic beverages. Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
Dining Room Support Staff
Positions are available in The English Grill/ Lobby Bar area (part-time evenings).
Weekend and holiday work is definitely required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Stocking and maintaining supplies in all service areas.
- Clearing soiled glassware, plates and service ware from tables and transporting them to the dish wash area.
- Clearing and resetting tables in the dining room, greeting guests and assisting Servers with the delivery of food & beverages.
- Carrying trays of food to the table.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and sanitary condition of the lobby bar, dining room and service areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements include but are not limited to: prior experience in a full-service restaurant or hotel, some knowledge of food, wine & cocktails, excellent communication skills, able to stand for long periods of time/carry more than 30 lbs/work in a fast paced environment, must be organized and detail oriented and be of legal age to serve alcohol.
Shift Engineer
This is a full time position that requires flexible scheduling to include weekends, excellent written/verbal communication skills and a professional appearance. There will be considerable guest interaction in this position.
Must be competent in all maintenance disciplines.
Requirements include but are not limited to:
The ideal candidate will have prior experience and be able to demonstrate proficiency in basic maintenance functions including: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, professional painting, and other mechanical disciplines.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with HVAC experience.
Must be able to lift over 50 lbs. and routinely perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders and walking significant distances.
Banquet Server (Part-time/On-Call position)
Responsible for serving food & beverages in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
Banquet Servers must be knowledgeable of event menu items and appropriate table settings. Banquet Servers are also responsible for setting up, maintaining and breaking down banquet rooms. This position requires basic English language communication skills, and the ability to carry large and heavy trays on a continuous basis throughout a shift; must also be of legal age to serve alcohol.
