A Tribute

The English Grill stands as a tribute to J. Graham Brown, the original owner. With its oak paneling, stained glass windows, antique brass lighting fixtures, carved columns, equestrian oil paintings and tracery ceiling— a reminder of what downtown Louisville restaurants used to be, The English Grill's dining room continues to be a place where guests experience excellence in service and enjoy an array of beautifully prepared menu items created to suit every guest's tastes.

The Menu

The English Grill menu offers an eclectic selection of tempting appetizers, homemade soups, salads and entrees—all crafted by our talented, creative culinary team directed by Executive Chef Laurent Geroli. The Grill hosts specialty events featuring winemakers and visiting chefs throughout the year. Winemakers from France, California, Italy and Spain have shared their talents in wine with guests, always pairing them beautifully with the delicious culinary offerings of Chef Geroli. Our guests return again and again for these informative and fun-filled events.

The Dessert

Experience the Chocolate Striptease, our signature dessert in the English Grill. Dark chocolate cake with milk chocolate mousse enrobed in dark chocolate ganache. Coated with chocolate shaving and served with mixed berries and chocolate sauce, flaming with Bacardi 151 Rum.

The Chef's Table

The English Grill features two uniquely different Chef's Tables. The "Classic Chef's Table" accommodates four to eight guests. Diners view the work on the kitchen line—guests are encouraged to walk the line to inspect the offerings from the culinary staff—making the celebration an even more enjoyable event. Business gatherings, birthdays, anniversaries and visiting dignitaries have all been guests of the Classic Chef's Table. The seven course meal is prepared with wine pairings from the English Grill's Sommelier.

The "Theater Chef's Table" is on the working side of the kitchen. This table accommodates up to 16 guests and incorporates the concept of small-plate dining, complete with four distinct beverage pairings—a bourbon cocktail, red and white wine, and a sparkling wine for dessert.  Here, Chef Geroli is only a few feet away from guests and the table resembles a cooking class.
